Stockholm (HedgeNordic.com) – For the third year running, the best Nordic hedge funds were recognised and awarded at the Nordic Hedge Award in Stockholm. The event is organised by HedgeNordic, the only media outlet exclusively covering the Nordic hedge fund industry.
Voted in third place was Graal Total, managed by Swedish Aktie Ansvar. The fund invests in other hedge funds managed within the Aktie Ansvar group. In 2014, the fund generated a return of 7.6 % with an annualised standard deviation of 4.9 %.
In second place came OPM Vega Nordic Hedge, managed by Swedish OPM (Optimized Portfolio Management). The fund invests in a selection of Nordic hedge funds, covering a varied scope of geographical territories, investment strategies and asset classes. In 2014 the fund returned 5.6 % to an annualised volatililty of 3.4 %.
Winner of the category best nordic Fund of Hedge Fund was Merrant Alpha Select, managed by Swedish Merrant Fonder. This is the third time in three years the fund wins the category.
Merrant Alpha Select is a market neutral fund of funds that invests in 10-18 hedge funds which are mutually uncorrelated and uncorrelated to major equity and bond markets. In 2014 the fund generated a return of 4.2 % to an extremely low volatlity of 1.5 % (expressed as annualised standard deviation).
